Habitat

The white shark occurs in both near-shore coastal waters and offshore pelagic waters. Their preferred habitats shift with age. Pups and juveniles tend to remain in near-shore habitats over shallow continental-shelf, in warmer waters.

Prey

They are the largest predatory fish in the world and are also the only shark that regularly feeds on marine mammals, often hunting whales, seals and sea lions.

Dangers to the Great White Shark

The white shark is often caught as bycatch by commercial fisheries and can also become entangled in meshes that protect beaches.

Great White Sharks only known predators are certain populations of orcas and humans.
